The Mossberg 590 is durable featuring a nice stainless steel finish while a synthetic black stock wraps of the rear end of the gun. It features a 20-inch cylinder bore bead barrel chambered for 3-inch shells, synthetic furniture, and a capacity of 8+1. The barrel and receiver are finished in Marinecote, a baked on finish similar to parkerizing but more resistant to salt.
