The compact Ruger Security-9 9mm pistol comes with a Viridian® E-Series™ red (635-650 nm) laser weighing just over 1/2 oz with the installed battery; securely fixed to the rail and trigger guard, this laser also features an ambidextrous push-button activation. The Security-9 leverages Ruger's Secure Action™ fire-control system (a combo of a protected internal hammer with a bladed-safety trigger) that has proven to be safe and reliable; it is also equipped with a textured grip frame that provides a secure and comfortable grip, a precision-machined, hard-coat anodized aluminum chassis with full-length guide rails, and a variety of safety features including an integrated trigger safety, an external manual safety, hammer catch safety, and a neutrally balanced sear with significant engagement and strong spring tension. Ruggedly constructed with a through-hardened alloy steel slide and barrel wearing a black oxide finish, as well as a high-performance, glass-filled nylon grip frame, the Security-9 is safe and easy to takedown without a trigger pull or special tools. It ships with two alloy steel magazines that hold 10-rounds each, and as a compact pistol, is a good candidate for personal protection.
