The next generation in everyday carry, it is equipped with a 3.1-inch stainless steel barrel wearing the extremely corrosion-resistant Armornite® finish, a slide of the same construction and finish, and a polymer frame built to be tough and durable.

Also featured on the Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm Shield Plus are white dot front, white 2-dot rear iron sights to help you target better; a polymer grip with interchangeable backstraps for optimal hand fit and trigger reach; an enhanced grip texture that offers a no-slip grip while helping in recoil management; and an 18-degree grip angle for a more natural point of aim and better recoil control. This model lacks a thumb safety but, like other models in the series, features a passive trigger safety, as well as a new flat face trigger that offers a tactile and audible reset, and allows for consistent finger placement resulting to accurate, repeatable, and comfortable shooting.
