The Launch 1 is an automatic knife made-in-the-USA at Kershaw’s Tualatin, Oregon manufacturing facility for those who have an automatic attraction.

It comes equipped with a drop point blade made of CPM154 powdered metallurgy blade steel which boasts a more uniform distribution of carbides, and as a result takes and holds an excellent edge. This extremely tough, corrosion and wear resistant blade opens with a strong kick thanks to a push button which is recessed such that it is level with the flat of the handle – a safety feature that makes it harder for the Launch 1 Kershaw to accidentally deploy. For rough-and-tumble good looks and an additional measure of blade protection, the blade is finished with Kershaw's BlackWash.

A push-button lock holds the blade open during use, and then releases with the push of a button.
