The FlexLock bullet boasts two revolutionary Hornady features to deliver superior barrier penetration and consistent performance in FBI tactical handgun ammunition tests (FBI Protocol): The patented Hornady® Flex Tip® design that initiates consistent expansion every single time while preventing any clogging; and a large mechanical jacket-to-core InterLock® band that works to keep the Critical Duty 10mm bullet and core from separating for maximum weight retention, excellent expansion, consistent penetration and terminal performance through all FBI test barriers.

The bullet is also cannelured with a crimped case to ensure there is no bullet setback during feeding, and the core consists of high-antimony lead which makes it tougher than most by delivering controlled expansion for unmatched, consistent functioning.

Rounding out the Hornady Critical Duty ammo with a muzzle energy of 523 ft. lbs. and muzzle velocity of 1160 fps is a low flash propellant to help preserve night vision in low-light firing, and a bright nickel-plated case that simplifies chamber checks in reduced light.
