The XR920 is a crossover pistol with a full-size frame and a compact top end with capacity for 17 + 1. Built on the same world-class frame as all pistols from the manufacturer, this firearm from the Shadow Systems Foundation Series touts sleek ergonomics, real-world shootability, and bet-your-life reliability.

Thanks to the optimized wrap-around grip texture of the frame, the pistol affords the shooter supreme control during rapid fire, and does not wear uncomfortably against the body when concealed. The grip comes with three interchangeable backstraps that change the angle of the bore and not the size of the grip, making it possible to tailor the XR920 Foundation frame to the shooter’s natural point of aim; and to provide greater control with a modern thumbs-forward shooting grip, a deep cut has been made above the trigger guard.

Rated for +P ammo, conventially rifled and spiral-fluted, the match grade barrel comes unthreaded (while also available unthreaded) and wears a smooth, durable nitride finish; also nitrided, the slide sports pocket-cut serrations and the patented multi-footprint optic cut which allows for a direct mount of most major optic brands on the Shadow Systems Foundation XR920 using the longest and strongest screws in the industry; the gently extended and upswept beavertail prevents slide bite without the characteristic oversized appearance of other frames in the market; and steel sights, including a plain black serrated rear and white dot front sight, afford a lower 1/3 cowitness with most optics.

More features of the Shadow Systems XR920 Foundation include a drop-safe, flat-faced aluminum trigger offering a 4.5 - 5.0-pound trigger pull and a crisp, tactile reset; a carbon steel guide rod that adds weight where it matters most, helping to dampen recoil and promote accuracy in follow-up shots; and a single-slot rail under the barrel for mounting a light or laser.
