Speaking of modern features, the firearm comes standard with not just M-LOK slots, but also a Picatinny rail to which optics can be mounted. The M-LOK® synthetic forend boasts textured grip panels, and the operating lever offers a reasonably sized loop to accommodate larger and/or gloved hands.

Also featured on the S&W 1854 Lever Action is a stainless steel barrel with 1:20" RH twist 8-groove rifling, 11 / 16"x24 threads, and a thread protector; a forged 416 stainless steel receiver which, like the barrel, wears a silver finish that contrasts nicely with the stock; and a gold bead front sight paired with a ghost ring rear one from XS Sights to ensure effortless target engagement with the Smith & Wesson Lever Action 1854.

Rounding out the package is a flat face trigger that feels just right, a crossbolt safety mechanism which makes the weapon safer to use, and a tube magazine that accommodates nine (9) rounds of 44 Magnum ammo.
