It is equipped a front sight featuring a taller blade and an aiming point ringed in photo-luminescent paint, as well as a rear sight outlined in black and sporting a wider U-shaped notch. This combination helps to quickly draw your eye to the front post in all lighting conditions.

The Trijicon HD rear sight comes with a front surface that is steeply hooked, and this is to assist in emergency one-handed slide operation. The sights are illuminated for high visibility in all lighting conditions thanks to a tritium phosphor-filled glass lamp; these lamps are protected within aluminum cylinders, and feature additional silicone rubber cushioning.

On this Trijicon HD night sight that is designed to shine even in unfavorable conditions, each Trijicon® tritium lamp is capped with a sapphire jewel that helps to distribute the light evenly, while acting as an additional layer of protection against cleaning solvents and puncture.
