The FN 509 pistol with compact polymer frame; 3.7-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel; steel slide; co-witness iron sights; FN Low Profile Optics Mounting System™; non-manual safety; Mil-STD 1913 accessory rail; loaded chamber indicator (LCI); polymer grip; 5.5 - 7.7 lb. trigger pull; double-action hammer; 12 or 15-round magazines; and FDE finish.

The FN 509 Compact pistol is reliable, durable, and delivers full-size functionality in a compact package, which is to be expected as it was designed and certified by the weapons experts at FN America.

In terms of features, the 509 MRD pistol arrives ready for action sporting a polymer frame with replaceable steel frame rails; a polymer grip with interchangeable backstraps and enhanced texturing for better recoil management and faster follow-up shots in all conditions; a cold hammer-forged, stainless steel barrel with recessed target crown, polished chamber and feed ramp; and a steel slide with an external extractor and a safety-enhancing loaded chamber indicator that provides visual indication when there is a round in the chamber. To make manipulation easy no matter the condition, the slide also features improved front and rear cocking serrations.

The optics-ready 509 FN FDE pistol is outfitted with the FN Low Profile Optics Mounting System™ that enables the platform to accept more than ten commercially-available, miniature red dot (MRD) optics that co-witness with the suppressor-height night sights while remaining adaptable to future optics releases with no requirement of direct milling of the slide. The pistol also comes standard with all-black co-witness iron sights.

A new, flatter faced trigger that offers a more controllable trigger press and cleaner break, a MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail for mounting accessories like lights and lasers, and a fully ambidextrous slide stop lever and magazine release round out the FN MRD Compact package.

The FN 509 9mm pistol is shipped with one (1) 12-round and one (1) 15-round magazine, or two (2) 10-round high visibility magazines each featuring a low-friction follower and a polymer base plate. Two interchangeable backstraps, a locking device, an FN logo soft pistol case, and an owner’s manual are also included in the box, and the pistol is available for commercial, law enforcement and military use.
