This slimline subcompact pistol has been engineered with the GLOCK Perfection promise, and as a result is able to withstand the rigors of routine training. It features a frame and grip made of synthetic polymer that is tougher than steel; a cold hammer-forged barrel with hexagonal rifling to provide a better gas seal around the projectile for greater muzzle velocity and accuracy; a set of highly visible, easy to use white outline sights that sit on the slide and track reasonably well; as well as the well-known locked breach system referred to as "Safe Action", which combines a trigger safety, firing pin safety and drop safety to make the loaded Glock42 pistol unable to fire, even when bumped or dropped, till the trigger is actually squeezed.
