The Maverick 88 is the utility player of pump-action shotguns.

It comes bearing standard pump-action features, including dual extractors, positive steel-to-steel lockup, twin action bars, and an anti-jam elevator for smooth operation.

Like all 88 Special Purpose Security models, the Mossberg Maverick 88 has a 3" chamber, and either an 18.5" or 20" blued barrel with a fixed cylinder bore and a brass front sight bead barrel set in a rugged black synthetic stock with a ribbed forearm.

This Maverick 88 Shotgun makes use of a cross-bolt safety with red "safety off" indicator, and is widely favored for its affordability, diverse selection of available accessory barrels, and reliability which makes it up to task, from combing through the woods to handling home security duty; it also utilizes Accu-Set choke tubes, making it interchangeable with Mossberg 500/535/930 models (within gauge).
