The Ruger Mk IV Target lends itself to simple, one-button takedown for quick and easy field-stripping and proper chamber-to-muzzle cleaning. Pressing a button in the back of the frame allows the barrel-receiver assembly to tilt up and off the grip frame without the use of tools.

Also equipped on the Mark IV Target is an ergonomic bolt stop; an internal cylindrical bolt construction that ensures permanent sight-to-barrel alignment and higher accuracy potential than conventional moving-slide designs; a contoured ejection port and easy-to-grasp bolt ears that allow for durable and reliable operation round after round; an ambidextrous manual safety which can be converted to left-side only with included washer; and an accurate sighting system boasting a drilled and tapped receiver for Weaver- or Picatinny-style rail which enables easy mounting of optics.

The Ruger Mark IV Target ships with two, 10-round magazines and a hard plastic case. The push-button magazine release is conveniently located on the left side of the frame; the magazine drops free on release for convenient reloading; and the magazine disconnect prevents discharge when the magazine has been removed.
