Designed with functionality and safety in mind, it comes in an ergonomic profile that makes it easy to use in tense situations. Its features include a fiber-reinforced polymer frame wearing a “hostile environment” blued finish that is corrosion-resistant; a grip that offers a comfortable hold with interchangeable backstrap inserts, lateral plates, and molded finger grooves; a one-piece machined slide made from nitro-carburized steel; and fixed night sights on the slide to help you target better.

Also featured on the P30S is a cold hammer-forged barrel that offers increased velocity, easier cleaning, and longer barrel life, thanks to its polygonal bore profile; a MIL-STD-1913 rail for mounting lights and accessories; and the HK LEM trigger system that combines the advantages of a cocked striker component with a double-action hammer system. This enhanced trigger system with multiple trigger firing modes consolidates ease of use and safety into a convenient trigger operation, while combining reliability with the crispness you've come to expect from Heckler & Koch.

In addition to automatic hammer and firing pin safeties, this pistol also offers a manual (thumb) safety mechanism that is ambidextrous. The slide levers and magazine release are also useable by right as well as left-handed operators, and the H&K P30S ships with two (2) 17-round magazines.
