The unique DWX pistol is the result of an innovative idea developed by the brilliant minds at CZ and Dan Wesson, a grand melding between the two pistol families, and this Compact version has been made with concealed carriers in mind.

Its simple, locked breech barrel system discards the standard 1911 link system and instead uses CZ-style takedown via the slide stop. Hammer-fired CZ owners will be at home with the easier take-down, and will find the process of removing the match-grade barrel familiar as well due to the bushing-less barrel system that resembles that of a P-10 or P-09/P-07.

Designed initially for competition use, both this Compact and the full-size models of the DWX have evolved into much more. The grip angle and contours that have made the CZ 75 a stand-out in the realm of pistol ergonomics, is featured on both versions of the Dan Wesson DWX, making them a natural fit for most hands. This pistol can utilize standard grips from a CZ 75; and corresponding magwells for the 75 series are compatible as well. Its sights are easily customized, using a 1911-style dovetailed sight in the front and a CZ Shadow 2 style sight cut in the rear.
