Offering more options to accessorize than the previous generations, the Smith and Wesson M&P 15 Sport III comes equipped with a mid-length gas system that ensures less felt recoil when shooting; a free-float handguard which provides you with enough space to mount a multitude of aftermarket accessories; and a 1:8 twist, 5R rifled barrel which 5R rifling profile has consistent contact with the projectile, ensuring a more accurate rifle.

The 1:8" twist rate change of the M&P 15 Sport III barrel allows for a wider variety of ammo to be used, and the barrel as well as the chromed firing pin, forward assist, and dust cover, all feature the superior Armornite finish for protection against the elements.
