The LCR boasts a monolithic frame of 400-series stainless steel construction; a barrel that is just approximately 1.8 inches long; an extensively fluted (for weight reduction), high-strength, stainless steel cylinder with a PVD finish for excellent durability; and a Hogue® Tamer Monogrip® grip that dampens perceived recoil. Thanks to the included grip peg, a variety of grip styles can be installed on the Ruger L C R.

To significantly reduce weight and recoil, all the fire control components in their proper dimensional relationships are held in the patented polymer fire control housing. The equally patented friction-reducing cam is a next generation design in fire control systems that results in a trigger pull that is smooth and non-stacking.

The replaceable, pinned ramp front sight with white bar is coupled with an integral u-notch rear sight for efficient target acquisition, and three full moon clips that both act as speed loaders and aid in the ejection of spent cartridges, ship with the Ruger LCR 357.
