The 509 MRD pistol is outfitted with a polymer frame featuring replaceable steel frame rails; a polymer grip with interchangeable backstraps and enhanced texturing for better recoil management and faster follow-up shots in all conditions; a cold hammer-forged, stainless steel barrel with recessed target crown, polished chamber and feed ramp; and a steel slide with an external extractor, a safety-enhancing loaded chamber indicator that provides visual indication when there is a round in the chamber, as well as improved front and rear cocking serrations for easy manipulation.

In addition to all-black co-witness iron sights, the 509 FN Compact pistol is equipped with the FN Low Profile Optics Mounting System™ that enables the platform to accept more than ten commercially-available, miniature red dot (MRD) optics that co-witness with the suppressor-height night sights while remaining adaptable to future optics releases with no requirement of direct milling of the slide.

Also present on this FN MRD Compact for sale at Mister Guns is a new, flatter faced trigger that offers a more controllable trigger press and cleaner break, a MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail for mounting accessories like lights and lasers, and a fully ambidextrous slide stop lever and magazine release easily accessible to both right and left-handed users.

Available for commercial, law enforcement and military use, the striker-fired FN 509 9mm pistol is shipped with one (1) 12-round and one (1) 15-round magazine, or two (2) 10-round high visibility magazines each featuring a low-friction follower and a polymer base plate. Two interchangeable backstraps, a locking device, an FN logo soft pistol case, and an owner’s manual are contained as well in the package.
